Attending college might not easy with studies, expectations and friendships. However, fashion trends can be made easy. Sapna Sarfare reveals college trends for 2016 to go all stylish.
Living the college to its fullest whilst studies take an important position is the full time work of a student. Amidst this juggling, it is imperative that one wears the latest trend and creates an impression on college premises. The only hurdle is of knowing the latest college trends to hit the institutions in 2016. After all, we do not want our young friends to be left ridiculed for wearing clothes from a bygone era.
Time flies by quickly and these days, fashion trends do too. College fashion trends are not averse to that rule and few years down the line, you see something radically new. Sana and Sulakshana of The Circus feel that collegians these days like to keep comfort and style together. “College fashion is the new street style inspiration for all. College fashion today is not just about style but also about comfort and the youth don’t want to compromise on either,” they add.

Designer Aiman Aagha has seen changes from normal salwar kameez and jeans to latest designs and silhouettes. “Normally, back then, guys opted for a simple jeans and shirt, but now as the trends are largely followed by students, they choose to wear clothes that are in, making a cool statement and also by following their favourite celebrities and fashion influencers.”
Bollywood, as per designer Rozina Vishram’s views, dominates any student’s style. “There has been an immense change in the fashion since last few years. From baggy pants to skinfit pants & turtleneck sweat shirts to printed jackets, there is a new trend each year and students follow it very neatly. College years are meant for all those trendy stuffs.”
Sometimes, some trends get your support for a comeback, despite being a bit old. Aiman finds turtleneck sweatshirts really cool which ‘made fashion trends back in 20s’. “Also sweatshirts are generally worn by students, but turtle necks are really smart and sophisticated,” she adds. Sana and Sulakshana recall the skater kurtas made famous by Deepika Padukone in Love Aaj Kal, which create a wave a few years back. They feel it might make a comeback.
“You could wear them with jeans, tights or as a dress. It had a very indo-western look with ethnic prints being worked into contemporary silhouettes. We also love the idea of peasant tops making a comeback.” Rozina has an excellent comeback suggestion – Bell-bottom pants. “Styling can be changed according to the events. Choose your top or shirts accordingly,” she adds.
It is time to move on to suggestions of the latest fashion trends in 2016. That is what most would be waiting for. Rozina reveals that printed jackets are trending in 2016. “They are super comfortable and stylish. It is available in different prints, colours and fabrics. It can be worn by boys and girls as well.”
